Welcome!
Dear Dorchester County Community Members,
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Board of Education representing District 5! It has been an honor to be appointed by the County Council to serve in this role. I have learned much, enjoyed the work, and have added positive value in my time on the Board. Now I ask for your vote and support to continue the progress that we are making.
My educational journey through Hurlock Elementary, North Dorchester Middle and High Schools, and beyond has been foundational to who I am. I have seen some of the best practices in education across this amazing country of ours and I welcome the opportunity to ensure that our students have the very best resources, educators, and learning experiences that we can get for them.
We have made positive strides in the past year and the outcomes for students, teachers, and staff reflect that. At the same time, we have significant challenges and opportunities in front of us that will take everyone who cares about our students and the future of our community to be a part of the solution.
We are a growing community - We grow crops, gardens, family, ideas, and opportunities. We create the conditions for everything we touch to thrive. I know we can create the conditions for every student, parent, teacher, and member of our community to thrive.
I would be honored if you would vote for me to represent you on the Board of Education in District 5! Throughout this website I have shared a little about what I see as our key priorities, some resources for anyone wanting to know more about where we are and where we are going as a school district, and a little about my personal story. Students need to know what is available to them outside of school. Whether they want to choose a career right out of school, or additional education after graduating from DCPS, it is an important part of our role as educators and members of the community surrounding them to help students start the pathways to success for them.
